Upcoming changes to stop order availability on Bitstamp
As part of this broader platform upgrade, we’re transitioning to a new stop order system. This update will streamline how we support stop orders across products and lay the foundation for smarter execution logic and expanded order capabilities.
What’s changing?
Effective April 16, 2025, the following stop order types will no longer be available on the Bitstamp web platform and mobile app:
- Stop Market Buy Orders
- All Trailing Stop Orders
From that date, you will no longer be able to place new orders of these types. Any active Stop Market Buy or Trailing Stop Orders will remain in place until May 14, 2025, unless cancelled manually. After this date, they will be automatically closed.
All other stop order types, including Stop-Limit Sell Orders, will remain available and continue to function as usual.
