Everything you need to know about MATIC to POL migration

In 2023, the Polygon team announced its plan to transition from MATIC to POL, introducing a new token designed to support the network’s future growth. At Bitstamp, we’re fully supporting this upgrade by ensuring a seamless, automatic migration so our MATIC holders don’t have to worry about a thing.

The whole transition will happen in March 2025. We’ll convert all MATIC holdings to POL at a 1:1 ratio.

What’s changing and important dates

Here’s how the transition will unfold:

MATIC lending will end on March 5, 2025.

If you’ve been lending MATIC, you’ll continue earning rewards until this date, with final rewards credited to your account by March 10, 2025. If you don’t recall lending MATIC before March 5, it will be automatically liquidated and returned to your account.

If you are lending MATIC, make sure to recall your assets before March 5, or we will do it on your behalf.
